Sustainability

Sustainability refers to the capacity to maintain or improve certain essential processes, systems, and resources over time without depleting or damaging natural ecosystems. It encompasses the concept of meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainability involves a balanced approach to economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social equity, often considered the three pillars of sustainability: people, planet, and prosperity. The goal of sustainability is to create and maintain conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, allowing for the fulfillment of social, economic, and other requirements of current and future generations. This concept is applied across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, urban planning, and business practices, encouraging responsible use of resources, reduction of waste, and the promotion of renewable technologies.
