St. Helena

St. Helena is a remote island located in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is known for its rugged terrain and significant historical background, particularly as the place of exile for Napoleon Bonaparte from 1815 until his death in 1821. The island is part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha. St. Helena is characterized by a small population and unique biodiversity, with several endemic species. Economically, it relies on tourism, fishing, and some agriculture. The island is notable for its lack of an airport until 2017, when the first airport was opened, enhancing accessibility. It is also known for its historic sites, including the town of Jamestown, which is the capital and one of the oldest towns in the Southern Hemisphere.
